2006 grants from the Kentucky Book Fair

The Kentucky Book Fair, Inc., has awarded two (2) grants to libraries from the proceeds of the 2005 event. This nonprofit organization was founded to coordinate the annual Kentucky Book Fair with proceeds supporting Kentucky's libraries.

Since the inception of the Kentucky Book Fair in 1981, over $250,000 has been awarded to Kentucky libraries. Our 25 year history shows that each year approximately 200 authors attend to autograph copies of their latest books, and as many as 5,000 patrons attend and purchase over $100,000 in gross sales.

The following two (2) libraries were approved for grants totaling $1,000:

  • $500.00 to Taylor County Public Library to purchase new books for the recently expanded teen corner
  • $500.00 to Harlan Independent Schools to expand the scope of the library book collection

Please join us for the 25th anniversary Kentucky Book Fair to be held on Saturday, November 11th at the Frankfort Convention Center.
